I was running down a highway in my aero 125 at 55mph and suddenly the scooter started revving with no power. Engine is running fine and the wheel turns with zero torque behind it. Any ideas before I start gutting the bike looking for answers?

Took the bike down and the belt was just worn to hell. Any ideas on how I can get a new "cheap" belt?

You need to know the specs on the original belt and then all you have to do is find a belt the comes close to matching it. I have the specs for the Spree belt and found that an AX-24 belt is slightly wider and slightly longer and will work. But for the 125, I have no idea. You might check with Gates or one of the other major manufactures. Oh and get an industrial belt, not an automotive belt.

Got any links i can look up for an industrial V belt? I picked up a lawncare belt at my local auto parts store but it isn't wide enough and sits low on the V giving me a real cut in high end power (old belt 55 mph new belt 37mph) only did that because it's my daily driver to work atm.
Edit: Original belt size is 794 x 18.0 x 30

You said the original belt was wasted, so where did those number come from. If the old bet they are useless. I did the research and came up with a belt number. Then I cheated and let the experts do the work. I had the specs on a new stock belt and went to the local Bearing and Industrial belt supply house and let them look it up. When they came up with the same number I bought one for less than $10.
FYI, a slightly wider belt will give you more mph on the top end by riding higher in the the pulley.

Those number are from the catalog number matching the numbers on the belt itself. As with all problems they come in two's: the scooter surged on and off on me for about 100 feet. As I pulled over the scooter died on me. That was a good mile walk back to the driveway. Starter is good carb is clean maybe a bad plug?

Back to basics, whenever you have an engine problem the first 3 things you do are;
Check spark,
Check that you have fuel and oil,
and a compression test.
You can have all the spark and fuel and oil in the world and without compression or enough compression it will never start.
The changing the plug is always a good thing and it is an automatic thing for me, but when it doesn't cure the issue, back to basics.

Problem solved carb gasket was loose. I looked at that gates site and how would I order a belt (do they do small orders)? And if I wanted a slightly larger belt what measurements would be safe to use given the measurements I gave you earlier?

Well in the case of my Spree the stock belt is 628x11.4x30 MM, and the AX-24 belt is, nominal outside length 26 Inches, top width 1/2 Inch. The 1/2" wide is slightly wider than the 11.4 mm stock belt. So you need to do some coverting. And yes use the measurement you have.
OH! you also need to make it a COGGED belt because of the tight curve around the front pulley.

Looks OK to me, but then the on number I checked was the 18 mm number.

www.monsterscooterparts.com/78sccvtbegap.htmlSeems to a close as I can get without shelling out 60-70 ish dollars. As far as I can tell it will run a little short by 6mm which isn't too bad pretty sure it will still go. Also the side measurement is off by 2mm. Good choice yea nay? See any problems with it?

You can but try it. However I was always under the impression that slightly longer was better than shorter. Too short keeps the belt from being able to get out to the outer edge of the pulley, which is where top speed happens. To long will no do that.

Im going to give that belt a try after a couple days or research it's in sweet spot. I'll let you know if it handles the 6mm tolerance. Should be here in a couple days.
