I recently put a volt meter in the dash in my 85 Aero to check how well the alternator was working, thought I would post it here for others to get some ideas. **If you chose to do this, you are doing this at your own risk, I am NOT responsible if you mess up a damage your scooter and or yourself*** Materials: Drill 2'' Hole Saw Red and Black wire 2 circle crimp connectors 2 female crimp "plug" connectors Wire crimpers Wire strippers $6 Volt Meter from Harbor Freight. The How To: Make sure to disconnect the ground wire from the battery First start by removing the front panel to see were you can drill without hurting anything. Then when you find a spot that will work for you, mark were you want the gauge to go with a Sharpie. 3rd Grab the drill with hole saw bit and start drilling but be careful not to drill into anything important. 4th Once you get the hole drilled, stick the gauge in and install it with the included mounting hardware. 5th Hook the red wire with the female connector to the positive side of the gauge and vise versa with the negative 6th Run the wires under the floor board and to the battery 7th Hook the wires up to the appropriate terminals. Put your cover back on and your ready to go and monitor your battery! Will upload better pics tomorrow. Here is one with installed

There is a problem with doing it this way. The meter will drain the battery, eventually. You would be better off to connect to the 12 volts + wire after the ignition switch. That way the meter is only on when the key is on. The plus wire will be connected to the black wire for the plus side. Any green wire will work for ground.
