Recently picked up an 84 Aero 80. Running when I picked it up but oil light not on. Battery dead. Runs on kickstart. Now when started oil light is on all the time. Filled oil tank with fresh 2 cycle and smoke is blue. Think it's either a stuck float or tge result of the totally flat battery. Thoughts or comments appreciated.

Sometimes that oil light comes on for a few seconds then goes out upon startup. I wouldn't use regular 2 cycle oil. use the Honda GN2 2 stroke much cleaner and better. It sounds like a stuck float, I usually don't fill it to the top.. and get yourself a good battery.. that can make other things fail..

I picked up the correct stat AGM battery but have to charge it. I am currently using Valvoline 2-cycle oil but think I overfilled the reservoir. And I owned and operated an iron barrel Sportster for 7 years, so I'm familiar with the quirks a slightly wonky battery/charging system can give you. I'm just ecstatic I don't have to polarize the field every so often on this. Thank you for replying.
