Hi guys. Yesterday my Dio (AF18e) didn't wanna start after staying home for almost 2 weeks. Nice spark so I suspected the carb. Opened it up and cleaned every nook and cranny with an air gun. Reassembled and retried. It finally starts but dies. It would idle and rev only if I cover most of the carb vent (where the airbox attaches) with my fingers. What is the reason for this and how do I solve the issue? Thank you in advance everyone.

Check the Bystarter circuit as if it is not working this is what you will have.

The needle extends when hot o shut off fuel flow.

The needle extends when hot o shut off fuel flow. So when needle does not extend I will have to choke the carb for the engine to run? Thanks Bear!

If the fuel floe passages are plugged you get no fuel flow when cold so you have to manually choke the engine.
