Monday morning on the way to the VA in Seattle the Aero 80 ate it's belt. Wife came and got me 40 miles from home, almost made it to the ferry. Had a new Honda belt on the bench along with rollers. So yesterday, Friday, I pulled the cover, removed all the belt crap, pulled the variator and swapped it out for a clean unit I had on hand and install the new rollers and belt. What a difference, 3 mph faster at 800 RPM less. Should improve the MPG. Probably should have changed the spark plug and installed the CT intake and the 24 OKO carb along with the cut head, but I got tired and just went with what was necessary.

Well, I installed the 12 gram rollers and the fricking thing shifts at 4200 RPM dropping the motor back to 3800. Way to early a shift, really lugs the motor up the hills. I need to try my 10 gram rollers. Think I will remember to change the spark plug too.
In the original variator the grease and the flat rollers plus a variator that was only able to travel half way was really screwing it up.
