aero 125 rim gets hot

recently got an aero 125
its in mint condition with 600 mi
completely serviced it it and it runs like new
i pulled the case off and pulled the variator
cleaned all grease from inside and rollers perfectly
belt is like new
clutch is perfect
changed final drive oil
i decided to use 80 gear oil synthetic 9had some left from my chevelle
brakes are like new and not hanging up at all
when i go for a couple of mile ride the tire,rim,and case get very hot
my tires are new and pressure is at 32
any ideas where the heat is coming from
my ch150 elite gets a little warm but not like this
mabye the heavier gear oil? i know it calls for 10-40
also a clue is it seems to have a flat spot accelerating between 25 and 40 at full throttle ,before and after that it pulls hard

brakes are like new and not hanging up at all
when i go for a couple of mile ride the tire,rim,and case get very hot Change the lube, you caused this and are costing yourself MPG and MPH.
my tires are new and pressure is at 32
any ideas where the heat is coming from

thanks bear makes sense
ill change and check the difference with my digital thermometer and get the results
ill do a quick top speed run both ways and check the diff just for fun
ill let ya know

You may have ruined those bearing with that heavy lube.

only have about 15 miles on the change
i guess ill skip the full speed run and just warm it up a little and do a change

cooled right down
i love this little scoot
my wife has been riding it and i think she is going to get her license
ill have to drive the old faithfull 150 elite
its gonna be cool to ride around with her though
how much do you think the aero is worth
it really is factory perfect 745 mi now
it even still has the factory plastic around the park brake
