So I got my 84 aero 80 home and put a battery in it and it starts with the electric starter and idles but when it gets warm it shuts off and won't start again.

Initially I could start it cold and ride it a couple blocks and it would die, I realized the gas cap wasn't venting and resolved that. now, if I start it cold, and ride it, it seems to ride as long as I want unless I let off the throttle, if I slow down enough for the engine speed to get to idle it shuts off and will not restart. I'm guessing this has to do with something in the fuel system, possibly the vacuum operated petcock or the automatic choke. Any ideas would be great.
