The Aero 125 tops out at about 55 mph. Acceleration will be on par with the Elite 150. The top speed is very restricted due to a small carb, which can be remedied fairly easily. Someone spent a bunch of time making it pretty on the outside. Look under the plastics to see how it was really taken care of. IMO, he is about $300 too high.

I may just pass on it and look for an elite 150. Do you think the 87 ch150 is better than the earlier years? (85,86)

Okay, I found another one just a few miles away, about half the price. I dont really have any tools to check compression or anything. Also he says it tops out at about 50.. I'm thinking thats a little short of the top speed. Honda 125 Aero, 3,500 miles runs great! Left mirror broken

Repop mirrors are on flea-bay all the time for about $20 a pair plus shipping. Harbor Freight www.harborfreight.com/flex-drive-compression-tester-92697.html3500 miles is enough to wear the belt and that will drop the top speed. At least this guy didn't spend hours making it look pretty so you wouldn't notice what is really wrong with the scooter.

The guy may have put oil in the gas tank and causing it to smoke bad. One of my 125s came with this issue. Siphoned as much gas as possible out of tank, filled with fresh gas and 5 minutes later the smoking was gone.

Hmmm yeah maybe good idea, i did look in the tank and saw some discoloration settling on the bottom. It was empty anyways so I just filled it. I just need to put some miles on it see if she smokes less. The owner had some home made air filter so i have to order a oem new one along with a new belt. what elese should I check or replace? I took her for a spin seems like at the top speed it bogged down a little around 50 and maxed out! so I too off the air filter and she got up to 54mph no issues.

No air filter means the air mixture is gonna be lean and you can hurt the motor, so be careful with running it until you get a new filter. Check the oil in the trans. Replace the inline fuel filter (16900-GB2-900) along with with the fuel, vacuum and drain lines, I prefer clear hoses.
