I have a 1984 Honda Aero 80 that I recently picked up. It has a broken seat lock and I'm unable to open to get to the tank. Any help or ideas would be appreciated

I once used a long screw driver and slid it in between the seat and the frame behind (towards the rear). Then put leverage on the cable and it popped right open. All you have to do is shorted the cable a little. Once you get it open the key number will be on the side of the lock assembly. You can get a key made with that number if your local dealer is worth a crap.

This is what I did, and it works perfectly, All you need is: 3 plastic zip ties cutter and a good factory cable with end still intact. (already supplied) Take the metal cable off the broken piece (Lock). Place a long zip tie (Red) on the end of the cable and tighten. Then use the excess of that zip tie as your pull ... take another tie (black)and create a loop to hold it in place (the red tie) there is a great place. black metal piece that has a hole in it already... you can fasten this black tie losely and use it as a guide for your red tie.. then take a final zip tie (yellow) slip it over the end of the red one and use just the head (cut it) of that tie as the grabbber on the pull.
