hi to everyone . came here looking for info on keeping my dads (he's 81 !!!!) 1984 aero 80 alive. the thing has ran good for the last 15 or so years he has had it but lately it will run for a few minutes then die, acts like it's getting no gas . i've been reading bears post regarding the bystarter fix and may go that route . while i was troubleshooting possible problems i punctured the diaphram on the fuel petcock , so now i will need to track one of those down. do any other PC's off other model hondas fit these ? i have found a few on ebay but none are aero 80 specific.

The 1983 and 1984 Aero 80 petcock is unique to those 2 scooters. As far as I know it is NLA from Honda but you see them on flea-bay all the time. Put "Honda Aero 80 NH80" in the search field. If you punctured the petcock diaphragm you are most likely leaking fuel into the intake through the vacuum line, which is causing your engine to shut down from to much fuel rather than not enough. If you haven't done so, install clear fuel and vacuum lines and you can see these things happening.

hey thanks for the info , believe me i've been thru ebay about 10 times !! i'll keep looking .
you are absolutely correct , the puncture is draining fuel down the vacuum line . the more i read on the subject the more i think the stalling out is caused by a bystarter problem or maybe a bad reed .
