I am new to this fourm. I have a 1983 Aero 50. Currently, the motor losses power when riding. I suspect the carb is dirty. I am the original owner and I know the carb has never been cleaned.
Thanks for the links. The carb in the pictures look like the one on my scooter. I will give it a try.
Regards, Mtwiedy

I am new to this site and wondering what to do about old gas in the tank. should I dump it completely and add fresh gas(premium, midgrade or regular).
or should I add HEET to existing gas or a partial can of HEET due to smaller gas tank(1.5gallons).
Need to know ASAP.THANKS.

I can prove it helps cover up any residue old gas, but it makes me feel better. Never add HEET to anything. It is the wrong kind of alcohol. You want to use isopropyl alcohol, not ethanol or methanol. Beside all gas has one of the two later alcohols in it already (up to 10%). You are better off using a fuel stabilizer like Sta-bil. As to fuel grade, these engine have a stock compression ratio in the 7 to 1 neighborhood and anything more that 87 octane is a waste of your money with no performance gain.
