When running my scooter near top speed (55mph) the engine will stop combustion a little like a stall at high speed and not until I slow down to about 15mph will it begin to run again. This happens with WOT or even down a notch. It seems when it gets to a certain speed the engine will just give out. Any ideas?

1. Clean the carb out very well, with air blasts of each passage. Make sure the float is working and the float needle moves freely. When you put the carb back on, make sure to gently tighten the bolts - they strip easily!
2. Check that the spark plug cap is not vibrating loose.
3. Clean (Decarbonize) the exhaust by removing it, backing it to red hot in a bonfire or on a grill outside until no more smoking from inside. Once cool, repaint to prevent rust and reinstall.
4. Make sure air filter is clean.

Make sure air filter is clean. You do realize that this guys post is from last summer, June to be exact. BTW the problem is not the exhaust or he would never reach 55 mph. NEVER use high pressure air to blow out a carb. 35 PSI max and only after either soaking the carb in carb cleaner or using spray cleaner or better yet both. Always start with the easy stuff, change the damn spark plug. They are cheap and should be changed every spring at start up anyway. Check the air filter. Replace as necessary.
