I'm going to look at what I'm told is an 1987 Aero 50. Havne't see it yet. I've read that the the NB 50 was sold until 1987, and that this scooter should have the AF05E engine. Any idea how I can confirm that on the bike?
I'm also told that it the electric start starts well, but that if you don't ride it for a long period of time (weeks) then it has a spot to put primer or spray primer and it will start up. But if ridden frequently, it starts every time. Sounds normal?
Any thoughts on what I should look for on the scooter before I buy? And anyone know the original cost? I know that the 1984 listed for $619, but can't fine the original cost of the 1987. Thanks and thanks for the site.

Can't help you on what to look for as I have only seen 2 Aero 50s But the not starting thing is normal. What happens is the petcock does it's job and shuts off the fuel. The fuel in the carb evaporates because the float bowl is vent to the atmosphere. Takes either some crank or a prime job to get them to start. My Spree does this and I do several 10 second cranks until it starts. FYI, ether starting fluid is a bad thing for 2 strokes. It can blow the reeds and it can wash the oil off the parts in the engine. Both bad things to do to your engine. The only good primer to use is a premix of gas and oil at 32 to 1 and use and old style oil can to despense it. www.harborfreight.com/8-oz-high-pressure-oiler-66350.html
