As you may or may not know, on Sept 29th I had a scooter accident. I hit a wet spot (sprinkler caused) on the road and ended up in the ditch, wearing the scooter. Broke both shoulder blades, a clavicle, ten ribs almost dying in the process. Five weeks in the hospital and sent home. A week later my chest cavity filled up with blood and fluid and collapsed my right lung, there by almost killing me again. Back to the hospital for two operatings and a weeks stay in the hospital. Finally sent home with warnings to not fall down for fear of having the me thing happen again. Spent Thanksgiving with the family at my sisters and am progressing slowly towards recovery. No riding until next summer.

Wow, sorry to hear that, I hope that you fully recover... I had no idea that happened! glad to see you still alive! I went down too after a dog ran out in front of me, I grabbed the front brake a little to fast and it locked up. Any advice for fellow riders?

There are three kinds of riders, those that have crashed, those that will crash and those that sit on the pouch and lie about it. Car drivers don't see you, so eventually you make a mistake too and get bit. So ride like they are all out to get you.
