i rechecked the carb bore because the first measure was of the black spacer. this time i check the carb bore it turned out to be 16mm. are the bolt holes center to center on my measurement correct? sorry for asking but what is a bystarter and what is it for? is the 18mm better than the 16mm, will the bolt holes fit my intake and my air filter? what kind of set up is on your aero 80? Yes, your carb measurements are correct because you have the PB54 carb, which is correct. An 18 mm carb will flow more air than a 16 mm carb. It is bigger so it can. Also the carb size measurement is of the venturi where the slide is and not the throttle bore at the carb flange.

I got lucky and got one off flea-bay with the guy claiming it was an Aero 80 carb. You will need either an aftermarket or an Aero 125 throttle cable (still available from Honda).

are you saying i can still get the carb and cable from honda, or just the cable? if so where do you think i can find a the carb? i'm hesitant to order a carb that will not fit, because i've e-mailed a couple of places, but their first reponse is to make sure i read their return policy which meant i will loose money if it does not fit. if you can help me with a sure thing i will order it right now. thanks again.

it was the carburetor. i ordered a carb kit from monster scooter parts #P33-4155. put it all together and all my problems were gone. the scooter was at least running as good as i first bought it. i took bear's suggestion by checking out the drive belt and variator weights (rollers). the rollers and the belt needed replacing. i clean out all the grease that held the rollers put everything back together then took a test drive. WOW! my scooter has been transformed to a super sonic out of this world catch me if you can aero 80. my top speed is 44 almost 45 mph that movin. i'm keeping my scooter totally stock. the only thing i need to do is to go back and take off the back cover with the three bolts on the variator. thanks Bear
