Thanks for the reply! In the leaking float bowl scenario, wouldn't I see fuel on the ground? I have opened the drain and immediately I get fuel, so I'm thinking it's full. As for the bad petcock, I have checked the plug when trying to start after sitting, and it does not appear to be wet. It seems like a fuel starvation or leak down because it starts/runs great if used everyday. At least it's helping me to pull out what hair I have left. (old fart) I still like your conversion but am still confused what to do to the hoses from the vacuum/heater when this conversion is made. Do I just plug the remaining hoses? Thanks again for the info... I love this scooter! Aerofly Not if it is a slow leak, because fuel evaporates fairly quickly. The drain by its nature is at the bottom of the float bowl and if there is any fuel in the bowl will flow fuel. Get a clear hose and put it on the drain and the rout it up next to the float bowl and open the drain. It will show you where the float level is. Yes because the scooter starts on the fuel in the float bowl and if it is low, there is not enough fuel to start the scooter. An empty float or almost empty float bowl will cause fuel starvation. I threw my old hoses in the trash sense they are now unused and can not cause leaks anywhere because the bystarter is not used anymore. Fred

Thank You!!!
Will give the clear hose a try, good call, hope this uncovers a problem...I think. Still going to do the conversion though.
Snow will be flying here soon, so I'll have to get on it.
I'll send back what I find out
