If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all. The carb starts flooding over, even after I changed the fuel filter. So I pull the carb, clean the crap out of the needle. Get called away for a phone call taking the 1/4" drive ratchet and 10 mm socket with me. Back to scooter and install carb, finger start the bolts as always and realize I left the 1/4" ratchet in the house. Decide to be lazy and just grab the 3/8" drive ratchet and 10 mm socket. Tighten carb bolt and immediately strip the inside one, pretty much just like I deserve for being lazy. Pull carb, look for 6 mm helicoils, none in package. Damn when did I do that? Grab the 1/4X20 helicoil set and drill, tap and install helicoils, find appropriate bolts. Install carb, start scooter and the damn thing still floods. Throw up hands in discussed and shut down today's operation. At least I have another needle and float to try in my spare carb, but crap, today did suck.
The only thing that went right was removing the rear wheel on the Spree. Tuesday it will go to the bike shop to have a 2.75X10 tire mounted for the extra top end from the over sized tire.

Oh, I did get this fixed. It was a combination of a bad petcock (yeah I knew it was bad) and the float tab having broken off. Replaced the float ad all was good. Yeah I know I should replace the petcock, but I'm busy riding the scooter. This winter when install the CT intake and OKO 24 carb I will address the petcock, since I have a spare in the parts boxes.
